Armenian opposition politician Eduard Sharmazanov accused the government of escalating political repression following searches at the residence of opposition leader Gagik Tsarukyan and facilities linked to his Multi Group Concern.
In a social media post on Monday, Sharmazanov, a senior member of the Republican Party of Armenia, said the authorities were following a predetermined course aimed at suppressing the opposition and creating a controlled political environment.
He argued that relying on legal and institutional processes alone would not stop the government's actions and called for broader street protests, while acknowledging that no single opposition force could bring about political change on its own.
