French Embassy in Armenia confirms food poisoning symptoms among Bastille Day guests

The French Embassy in Armenia has confirmed that several guests at its July 14 Bastille Day reception reported symptoms consistent with food poisoning.

In a statement released on Saturday, the embassy expressed “sincere apologies” to those affected and said it regretted the discomfort caused. The embassy added that the matter has been referred to Armenia’s Ministry of Health, which is expected to investigate the source of the illness.

“The French Embassy hopes the causes of these symptoms will be identified,” the statement said.

Officials emphasized their commitment to the safety and well-being of attendees at official events and said they await the findings of health authorities.
