Armenia issues high fire risk warning amid heatwave

Armenia’s national weather service has warned of a high-level fire hazard across several regions as hot and dry conditions persist through July 26.

According to forecasts from the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, elevated fire risk is expected in the Ararat Valley, Yerevan, foothills of Kotayk, Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor Provinces, as well as valleys in Syunik Province.

Deputy Director Gagik Surenyan said the situation requires vigilance, urging residents and visitors to avoid actions that could spark wildfires while spending time outdoors.
