FFA head: Henrikh Mkhitaryan greatest player in independent Armenia's history

President of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) Armen Melikbekyan has praised Henrikh Mkhitaryan as the best player in the history of independent Armenia.

"Henrikh Mkhitaryan is still an active player, but it would be a great honor – and I will do everything in my power – for a football school to be named after him in the future," Melikbekyan told a press conference on Wednesday.

"Henrikh Mkhitaryan is the greatest footballer in the history of independent Armenia. There can be no debate about it," he added.

Incidentally, Mkhitaryan left the Armenian national team during Melikbekyan’s tenure as the FFA head in 2022.
