Mane Tandilyan, co-founder of the Country of Living party, has called on the international community to take immediate action to secure the release of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Tandilyan highlighted the case of Vicken Euljekjian, a Lebanese-Armenian civilian who has been imprisoned in Azerbaijan since 2020 and is currently on a hunger strike.
“Vicken Euljekjian has been on a hunger strike for nearly two weeks,” she wrote. “This is yet another desperate act by Armenian captives to call attention to the inhumane treatment they are facing in Baku prison.”
“In the coming days, I'm meeting with the head of the UN office in Armenia to present the ongoing violations committed by Azerbaijan and to learn what steps UN agencies are taking in response," the politician added.
