Flights bound for UAE make emergency landings at Yerevan airport

Several flights en route to the United Arab Emirates made emergency landings at Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport early on Friday morning. The Kazan–Sharjah, Mineralnye Vody–Dubai and Belgorod–Dubai flights were diverted to Yerevan due to the closure of Iranian airspace.

Lilit Aghabekyan, spokesperson for Armenia's Civil Aviation Committee, confirmed the report to Panorama.am, stating that Iran shut down its airspace at approximately 4:30 a.m. local time.

"The timing for the resumption of these flights remains uncertain and depends on when Iranian airspace will reopen," Aghabekyan said.

Earlier reports indicated that several flights to and from Yerevan had been canceled following Israel's strikes on Iran.
