Levon Zurabyan: Violators of constitution pose biggest threat to state
The constitution is nothing more than an agreement that defines the rules of conduct and principles guiding both the state and its people, claims Levon Zurabyan, coordinator of the Armenian National Congress, on the occasion of Armenia’s Constitution Day celebrated on July 5.
“Whoever disrespects and violates the constitution shows disregard for every participant in that national agreement. They disrespect their fellow citizens, neighbors, ordinary and extraordinary people and ultimately, their own nation and state. In fact, such individuals don’t even respect themselves. By acting this way, they admit they are unworthy of respect and must face the consequences,” he said in a social media post.
“When such violations are committed by the head of state, you must be dealing with the biggest enemy of your country and people, a nation-destroying scourge, because nothing poses a greater threat to the state than those who violate the constitution.
“We will only be able to celebrate Constitution Day with the joy it deserves when the constitution finally triumphs over its violators,” Zurabyan added.
