Samvel Karapetyan vows to end Armenia's geopolitical subjugation

Businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, currently held in pre-trial detention for two months, has released another statement through his legal team, sharply criticizing Armenia’s current leadership and outlining his vision for the country’s future.

Karapetyan accuses the government of squandering Armenia’s post-war diplomatic leverage, claiming that effective negotiations could have preserved Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), prevented the capture of Armenian prisoners and maintained regional influence. Instead, he says, Armenia surrendered key positions, engaged in direct talks with Azerbaijan and made unilateral territorial concessions without securing anything in return.

He condemns the abandonment of Western and Russian mediators in favor of Turkey, a move he describes as both naive and dangerous, and warns that Armenia is being steered toward becoming a satellite state under the illusion of promised peace.

Karapetyan criticizes the "Crossroads of Peace" project promoted by the Armenian government, arguing it risks undermining Armenia’s sovereignty while benefiting foreign powers.

Karapetyan declares his commitment to restoring Armenia’s geopolitical balance.

“We will free Armenia from its status as a geopolitical victim. We will restore the balance of interests and influence in the region. Transit routes will remain under Armenian sovereignty and greatly benefit the Armenian economy, not others, however friendly they may be. We’ll do this our way,” reads the statement.
