Tatoyan Foundation reports irregularities in Vagharshapat elections

Election observers from the Tatoyan Foundation report that they documented multiple voting irregularities during Sunday’s municipal elections in the enlarged community of Vagharshapat.

In a statement posted on social media, the foundation cited instances of voter guidance, open voting, and procedural violations at several precincts.

At precinct 14/47, observers saw a representative of one political party repeatedly exit and re-enter the polling station without proper authorization or registration. At precinct 14/15, monitors reported two cases of voter guidance and an incident in which two individuals were inside the same voting booth while a ballot was being cast.

Additional violations were recorded at precinct 14/20, including both voter guidance and open voting. At precinct 14/45, observers alleged inconsistencies in the number of ballot papers allocated to competing political forces. At precinct 14/9, one voter was seen assisting another inside the booth.

Despite these issues, the foundation noted that in many instances the chairs of the precinct electoral commissions acted promptly to document the violations and prevent their recurrence.

Eight parties and blocs are running in the Vagharshapat City Council elections.
