A recount of votes in Vagharshapat’s municipal elections has concluded with no changes to the results, Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reported on Wednesday.
According to the CEC, one precinct recorded two fewer voter receipt slips due to a technical adjustment, while three precincts saw the number of invalid ballots decrease by a total of eight. These discrepancies did not affect any party’s overall tally.
The Republic Party had requested recounts at precincts 14/15, 14/16 and 14/22. In line with electoral law, the territorial commission also selected precincts 14/1, 14/8 and 14/22 for recounting.
The confirmation of the original results means the Republic Party has not been elected to the Vagharshapat municipal council, having fallen 15 votes short of the threshold required for representation.
