Wildfires near Dilijan contained

Armenian emergency officials say that wildfires that broke out in forested areas near the Dilijan serpentine road and close to the Lernayin Hayastan Resort have been fully contained.

In a statement issued on Thursday morning, the Interior Ministry Rescue Service said coordinated and intensive efforts had succeeded in isolating the flames and preventing further spread.

Authorities urged the public to strictly follow fire safety rules, warning that even small sparks could pose a danger in dry forest conditions. Residents are asked to immediately call the emergency hotline at 911 if they notice smoke or fire.

The Rescue Service promised to provide further updates.
