Pashinyan hopes to visit Azerbaijan in 2028

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed hope that he will be able to visit Azerbaijan in 2028 for the next European Political Community (EPC) summit.

“This is the first time that the Azerbaijani president has participated in an event held in Armenia, albeit via video link. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to visit Azerbaijan in 2028,” Pashinyan said, addressing the 8th EPC summit in Yerevan on Monday.

The Armenian leader underscored that both countries had supported each other’s candidacies to host the summit, describing this as a tangible step towards the institutionalization of peace. “We are working together to strengthen and formalize peace between the two countries,” he added.

The summit, convened under the theme “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe”, has drawn dozens of European leaders, as well as senior figures from international organizations. In a notable first, Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney was invited as a guest, marking the debut participation of a non‑European leader in the forum.
