Armenian authorities probe soldier's death

Armenia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case into the death of a soldier. The proceedings are being conducted under Article 522.1 of the Criminal Code, which covers cases of “causing a serviceman to commit suicide through negligence.”

A forensic medical examination has been ordered and investigators are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

The Ministry of Defense reported that the body of private Aramayis Gevorgyan was discovered at a military unit early on Tuesday. No other details were immediately available.
