Armenian church leader casts ballot, urges faith in nation's future

His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, cast his vote in Armenia’s parliamentary elections on Sunday, urging citizens to place their trust in God and remain steadfast in the face of national challenges.

Arriving at his polling station early in the day, the patriarch fulfilled his civic duty before addressing reporters. He offered blessings to the Armenian people and expressed hope for the country’s strength and resilience.

“We made our choice with prayer and with God, that He may keep the Armenian state unshaken, bless the people and help us overcome the heavy trials of our lives,” Karekin II said. “We voted so that God may preserve our state to build a strong, secure and prosperous country. May the Lord’s love and mercy be with us and with the whole world, today and always.”

Polling stations across Armenia opened at 8 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m. local time, after which ballots will be counted.
