Armenian election commission annuls results at another polling station

Armenian election authorities have annulled the results from another polling station following Sunday’s parliamentary elections, citing a serious procedural violation involving a missing ballot paper.

The Precinct Election Commission for Electoral District No. 12 invalidated the voting results at polling station 12/13 after determining that ballot paper No. 8 was unavailable throughout election day, according to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

The polling station recorded 809 participants. Under the commission’s ruling, that figure was entered as the total number of discrepancies, while all other vote totals in the station’s official protocol were recorded as zero.

Election materials from the polling station have been referred to prosecutors for further investigation.

Ballot paper No. 8 belonged to the National Democratic Pole Party.

The decision is the latest in a series of election-related annulments. On Thursday, the CEC invalidated the results from polling stations 35/65 and 10/51 after military personnel were found to have cast ballots after the close of voting at 8 p.m. in violation of Armenia’s Electoral Code.
