Search for missing 13-year-old girl enters fifth day in northern Armenia

Armenian authorities on Friday continued searching for a 13-year-old girl who went missing along the Pambak River, as rescue efforts entered their fifth day following the recovery of her younger sister’s body earlier this week.

The search operation involves personnel from the Interior Ministry’s Rescue Service, police officers, volunteers and divers. Teams are using drones, boats and other specialized equipment to comb sections of the river and surrounding areas.

The two sisters, aged 13 and 7, were reported missing on June 15 after leaving a residence on Narekatsi Street in the northern city of Vanadzor and failing to reach their intended destination. Authorities received an emergency call at 5:05 p.m. local time reporting their disappearance.

On June 17, rescuers recovered the body of 7-year-old Nare Martirosyan from the Pambak River.
