Search continues for missing 13-year-old girl in Armenia's Pambak River
Search and rescue teams on Saturday continued operations along Armenia’s Pambak River in an effort to locate a 13-year-old girl who remains missing nearly a week after she and her younger sister disappeared.
According to Armenia’s Rescue Service, the large-scale search involves 167 rescue personnel, 90 police officers, volunteers, divers, unmanned aerial vehicles, boats and other specialized equipment.
The search began after emergency services received a call at 5:05 p.m. on June 15 reporting that two sisters, aged 13 and 7, had left an address on Narekatsi Street in the northern city of Vanadzor and failed to reach their intended destination.
On June 17, rescuers recovered the body of 7-year-old Nare Martirosyan from the Pambak River. The search for her older sister has continued since then, with teams combing sections of the river and surrounding areas.
