'The truth is on our side', says Samvel Karapetyan's son

The son of businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, who has been arrested on politically motivated charges, has issued an appeal to Armenians around the world.

Karapetyan has been charged with making public calls to seize power in the country, following his statements of support for the Armenian Apostolic Church.

In a video message released on Sunday, Karapetyan's son thanked all those who stood by them.

"We're going to demand justice our way and the truth is on our side," he said.
