Armenian church leader extends condolences to Iran over casualties

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II has sent a message of condolences to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi following casualties among Iran’s leadership and citizens amid the U.S. and Israeli strikes, the Iranian Embassy in Yerevan reported on Wednesday.

The head of the Armenian Apostolic Church expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of life and offered prayers for the Iranian people.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed after the U.S. and Israel launched a predawn assault on the country on Saturday.
