Pashinyan's party drops below 50% as Armenia finalizes election results

Armenia's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has summed up results from all polling stations following the country's parliamentary elections, showing the ruling party receiving less than 50% of the vote.

The early election results indicated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract party secured 49.81% of the vote. The Strong Armenia alliance finished second with 23.29%, followed by the Hayastan bloc with 9.94%. The Prosperous Armenia party received 4% of the vote.

The results were compiled from all 2,005 polling stations established nationwide for the June 7 parliamentary elections.

Official figures showed that 1,476,597 voters cast ballots in Sunday's elections out of 2,503,976 eligible voters, for a turnout of 58.97%.
